MOVE PGH Transportation Planning Meeting

GO Temporarily Closed

We regret to inform the Greenfield Community that
the Greenfield Organization is temporarily closed and
without a staff person for a major re-organization due to
circumstances beyond the control of the Board of Directors.
We will not be able to offer free income tax assistance this
year, publication of the Grapevine has been suspended,
and all use of the building by private groups is no longer
permitted.

The Board of Director’s is working diligently to have this
loss of service to the community be short term. In the
interim, board members are willing to assist with public

service issues and a message can be left at 412-422-8885
and a member of the board will contact you within a few
days to offer assistance.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause
our neighbors and look for us in the spring for future
updates.

Community Meeting with Councilman Corey O’Connor

Councilman Corey O’Connor will be hosting a community meeting on January 26, 2012 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Magee Recreation Center, located at 745 Greenfield Avenue in Greenfield. Involved community leaders and City representatives will be present to provide the latest updates on the community and hear your concerns and feedback.

McCaslin Street Closure starting Monday, December 5th.

The City of Pittsburgh advises that a road closure will be in place on McCaslin Street between Greenfield Avenue and Deely Street, in the Greenfield neighborhood, beginning at 7:00 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2011, for up to two weeks depending on contractor progress and weather. Independent Enterprise will be doing utility work in the vicinity of the Magee Senior Center for the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority. Local access for residents will be maintained.

A detour will be posted as needed.

Port Authority riders should be alert to temporary relocation of bus stops in the affected area.

Community Meeting about the 178-acre “Almono” Site

What: Community Meeting to discuss the development of the 178-acre Almono site, which is the former location of Ling Temco Vought Coke Works and borders Greenfield, Hazelwood, and Oakland.

Where: International Union of Operating Engineers, 300 Saline Street, “In the Run”

Greenfield Neighborhood Portal Project Update

Special thanks to Alan Milliken of Milliken Brick and Stone off Streets Run Road, who will be donating the 800+ bricks needed for the sign base; Tom Joyce, Concrete Contractor, who poured the sign foundation; and Kimacata Brothers Landscaping of Greenfield who have planted all the landscaping to date and will continue with new plantings in the spring.
