What? Take part in the spirit of the season with friends and neighbors. GPC is hosting holiday festivities including festive family movies (3pm – 5pm) and a recital by Undercroft Opera (5pm – 6pm). Refreshments will be served, and there is a rumor that Santa will be making an appearance. Undercroft Opera is an amazing group of professional-level artists who strive to expand the opera experience through their all-volunteer company.

Donations to Greenfield Presbyterian’s building fund are appreciated in any amount. Bring a nonperishable food donation, which will all go to St. Rosalia’s Food Pantry.

More Information: This is a great opportunity to tour GPC’s space and take a look at the rooms we are hoping to develop into co-working or workshop space. We are looking to connect with individuals and groups interested in this project.

The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works advises that MATCON Diamond has been awarded the Brownshill/ Beechwood Blvd construction project. Work will begin on December 11, 2012 and continue through October 2013. Drivers can expect lane restrictions and delays during the construction period. Roadwork may occur daily from 7am-8pm. (Inbound and outbound traffic will not be restricted during morning and evening rush hours respectively.)

The project limits extend from the Imogene Road/Browns Hill Road intersection to the Forward Avenue/ Beechwood Boulevard intersection. Work includes installation of new traffic signals at the Brownshill Road/Beechwood Boulevard/Hazelwood Avenue intersection and at the Beechwood Boulevard/Lilac Street intersection. In addition, the project includes installation of street lighting, new curb ramps, and milling and paving the existing asphalt street.

Unfortunately, the answer is no. The Greenfield Organization, which formerly ran the event, is in the process of shutting down and is not able to put it on.

However, a new neighborhood organization called the Greenfield Community Association is in the process of securing non-profit status and hopes to bring the parade back even bigger and better next year!

Try out different and varied games, bring a favorite board game to
share, or just come and socialize with your neighbors. There are usually drinks and/or snacks provided, and you are welcome to bring your own!

When: Sunday, December 9th from 2pm – 5pm
Where: The Community Room, Greenfield Presbyterian Church at 3929

Eligible families wishing to receive toys through Marino Chiropractic’s Toy Drive must complete the application available at Big Jim’s, First National Bank, Marino Chiropractic, the Magee Rec Center, the Food Pantry on Hazelwood Ave or online here: https://www.facebook.com/events/404406466299695/

All applications are confidential. and must be returned to Marino Chiropractic no later than Monday, Dec. 12th. To be eligible, one must be receiving unemployment compensation, public assistance or disability payments through SSI, and live in the 15207 or 15217 zip codes. Proof of eligibility in the form of a current government document must be presented on the distribution date. Picture identification will not be sufficient proof of eligibility.

Children participating in the toy program must be age 13 or younger. Participation in the toy distribution is only for parents and guardians of children from income eligible families. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins are not eligible to participate.

Toy Distribution:

Christmas toys will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. on Tuesday, December 18th. All recipients must pick up their gifts in person during the scheduled time. If there are extenuating circumstances pertaining to your eligibility or to the distribution time, you must contact Marino Chiropractic at (412) 421-3060.
