Greenfield Spring 2010 Clean Up: Take Two

Although we had 25 hardy/waterproof souls show up (plus a contingency from the Greenfield School) and the rain held off until 10:00 last Saturday, we were only able to get Magee in tiptop shape putting away 52 large bags!  Thanks to those who ventured out.

Greenfield’s 2010 Spring Community Clean Up – Saturday, April 24th

Now that spring has sprung, so too has the litter.
On Saturday, April 24th, the Greenfield community will be conducting its annual spring clean-up of the neighborhood from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.  Everyone is meeting at the Magee Field Basketball Courts.  Coffee and Pastries at 8:30 AM.

Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest Holding Tree Tender Course in Greenfield

Friends of the Pittsburgh Urban Forest is holding a course for any residents who are interested in becoming Tree Tenders. Currently, over 600 Pittsburghers serve as Tree Tenders who care for young city trees in a great effort to green our city.

Neighborhood Cleanup this Saturday!

Come join your neighbors at Magee Field this Saturday, April 25th for a neighborhood-wide Spring Cleanup!  We’ll be meeting at 8:30 am and will disperse from there in teams to different parts of Greenfield.  Trash bags and a few extra pairs of gloves will be provided.

Adopt-a-Block Prepares for Another Season

Adopt-a-Block is Connect Greenfield’s volunteer litter pick up program. Volunteers adopt various blocks and steps throughout the neighborhood and agree to keep them free of litter, which usually involves picking up trash every two to three weeks.
